Our Family Priority Statement

“We counsel parents and children to give highest priority to family prayer, family home evening, gospel study and instruction, and wholesome family activities. However worthy and appropriate other demands or activities may be, they must not be permitted to displace the divinely-appointed duties that only parents and families can adequately perform” (First Presidency letter, Feb. 11, 1999).

In 1999 our four children ranged from ages 10-15 years old. This statement given by the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave us the focus that our family was to be our highest priority.  Regardless of all other activities, we have striven to always return back to our "highest priority"; our home, and those within its walls.  In this world with changing values, and so many distractions to take us away from those we care about most, we wanted to share the truth about the family and its divine mission and role.  Our family means everything to us and we have felt the need to share its influence and purpose in our lives, and the happiness that it brings to us every day.
